The movie “The Karate Kid” is coming back to theatres after the successful story when it released 25 years back. The new film is a remake and which is coming to theatres as “The Kung fu Kid”. The same actor, Mr.Jackie Chan, although he is now 55years of age, he is ready to act in this movie.
Mr. Jaden Smith, (is the son of actor Will Smith and actress Jada Pinkett-Smith) plays Dre, a skateboarding video game buff who is forced to move to China after his single mother (Taraji P. Henson) is forced to transfer to the China for work. Of course, unable to speak Chinese, Dre finds it hard to settle in, and gets beat up by the local bully.
Jackie Chan plays Mr. Han, a maintenance man who spots Dre’s black-eye and offers to teach him both martial arts and Chinese, so he can defend against the students of Li Quan Ha’s Fighting dragon school of Kung-Fu. Some what changes have been done in the story part of this new film. The new remake film was a joint venture of Hollywood as well as by the Chinese film industry. Filming on the remake has begun this weekend in Beijing, China and is expected to last three months. The whole family of Mr. Jaden Smith were present in the shooting location.
This movie is produced by China film group and also by Columbia pictures. The movie was Directed by Harald Zwart (The Pink Panther 2) and written by Chris Murphy and Steven Conrad (The Pursuit of Happyness). The story is based on new generation activities and is releasing in two languages English and Chinese.
Two more films of Mr. Jackie Chan is ready to go to theatres are “The Spy Next Door” - in this movie he plays as Chinese Spy. The other movie is “The Big Soldier” - In this he plays and shows the love and friendship between two soldiers of the very old queen dynasty.
Mr. Jaden Smith’s first movie was “The Pursuit of happiness” in which he acted with his own father. After this, he played in a science fiction film “The Day The Earth Stood Still” with actor Keanu Reeves.
